Playable City starts conversations about the role of people and culture in future cities
We’re working to build a community – including academics, creatives, city officials, development organisations, digital technologists and citizens – who are actively exploring the implications of embedding technology within city infrastucture, and developing imaginative prototypes that use creative technologies to rethink public space.
There are lots of ways to join the conversation:

Join the Playable City Community
Our vision is to establish a global network of people making and shaping their city through playful interventions. This site will act as a home for sharing tools, ideas, projects and methodologies, to strengthen all of our work. To begin, we have created a number of resources that share some of the insights we have gained from making work in Bristol, Lagos, Recife and Tokyo. Resources include: information on how to become a playable city; suggested workshop plans; slide presentations; information about touring projects; videos; and more. To access the Resources Area log in (using the button on the main navigation bar above) or Register here to become a Playable City community member.
Host a Playable City Talk or Tour a Project
We are always open to speak at conferences about our work or tour projects. For further information, please email playablecity@watershed.co.uk
