Shiho Ishikawa is a Planner/Art Director for TV commercials and graphic design at advertisement agency ADK based in Tokyo, and also produces a mixed range of works as an artist. She is interested in the mixing of Japanese and western cultures and communication that doesn’t rely on being able to speak the same language.
Her educational picture book Alphapet merges Japanese Origami culture and the western alphabet. It has been published in five languages and workshops have been delivered around the world.
The “Tick tack studio” clock collects numerals from around the world to display the time, and has an app currently in development.
Working with digital content producers she is currently exploring how this might be developed into digital content.
