On Monday 17 September, Clare Reddington delivered a talk at Hide&Seek’s Playing in Public conference called ‘Technology for public spaces – an insider’s guide‘. Using learning from research undertaken with the Digital Cultures Research Centre, I presented some of the design dimensions you need to consider when designing playful experiences. Plenty of the speakers explore playable city type themes. Inspiring projects included painted pigeons, Joue le Jeu at La Gaîté Lyrique and Pi in the Sky.
Audio from the talks will be posted soon and in the mean time, Wired have published a short synopsis that Clare wrote of the talk: How to use technology in urban gaming.
