Residential Lab – Speaker Opportunity

Have you worked on a creative project where things didn’t go to plan? Did you learn valuable lessons from your mistakes? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a paid speaker to join a residential Lab session for our Creative Producers International cohort, here at Pervasive Media Studio in the second week of October.

Creative Producers International is a new talent development programme working with fifteen Producers from around the world to help them become change makers in their cities. You can read more about the programme and our cohort here: https://www.playablecity.com/programmes/creative-producers-international/

During the Lab we want to share some interesting case studies with our creative producers that represent an honest and balanced view of the cultural sector. We feel there is as much to learn from things that failed as there is from work that went according to plan.

We have many of our own examples to share, but are also keen to involve people from outside our immediate circle.

We are looking to find a producer or a practitioner who would be willing to share their experience with our cohort; perhaps your budget ran into difficulty, perhaps your project failed to draw an audience, or maybe it was affected by elements out of your control. If you have had an difficult project which could teach valuable lessons we would love to hear about it.

While we are asking for an open approach, we would only ask you to share as much as you felt comfortable with. Your story would be entirely confidential and shared only with the cohort and the Watershed Producer.

We will pay a speaker’s fee and cover travel expenses. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send us your contact details and a brief description of the project (which must be yours to share).

Please email Jo Lansdowne jo.lansdowne@watershed.co.uk by 1 September.

We look forward to hearing from you.
